Taking photos of Kennedy and Paetan is always a pleasure. This time was extra special since it was their first wedding anniversary. It was my third time photographing them, and we chose Rocky Mountain National Park as our backdrop. This park is filled with amazing views and different kinds of nature scenes. We picked Hidden Valley and Ute Trail for the photo shoot, which turned out to be the BEST choices.
Starting at Hidden Valley
We began our adventure at Hidden Valley. This place is known for its thick forests and peaceful setting. The forest is full of green trees, making it a perfect spot for photos that feel natural and cozy. Kennedy and Paetan were excited, and their smiles lit up the area. We took a short hike into the forest, where the valley and trees completely made the scenery amazing. Their love was clear as they held hands and laughed together, and the photos captured these sweet moments just right.
We explored different spots, and Kennedy and Paetan were happy to try new things, which made it even more fun. They even wrote letters to each other for a super cute moment. Their joy and love were easy to see, making it simple to capture their true selves.
The Magic of Ute Trail
After Hidden Valley, we drove up to Ute Trail. The drive was beautiful, with curvy roads and amazing mountain views. Ute Trail is famous for its stunning views and open spaces. It’s one of those places where you feel on top of the world. We took another short hike to find the best spot for photos. The trail offered views that seemed to go on forever, we even saw so many marmots at this spot!
As the sun started to set, the sky changed into colors of orange and yellow. The sunset at Ute Trail was amazing, making it the perfect backdrop for Kennedy and Paetan’s photos. They stood in front of the scenery, and adventured on the rocky trail creating a picture that was both striking and romantic.
Watching Kennedy and Paetan enjoy the moment reminded me why I love photography. It’s all about capturing memories to keep forever. I also captured their Intimate Breckenridge Airbnb Wedding in Colorado. Feel free to check out my blog for more inspiration!
Tips for Taking Photos in Rocky Mountain National Park
If you want to take photos or just enjoy the beauty of Rocky Mountain National Park, here are some tips:
- Best Time to Visit: The park is beautiful all year, but the best times for photos are early morning or late afternoon. The light is softer, and there are fewer people around. Sunsets, like the one on Ute Trail, are especially amazing.
- Permits: For a professional photo session, you might need a photography permit. Check the park’s website or contact the park office to make sure you have what you need.
- What to Bring: Wear comfy shoes since many spots require a bit of hiking. Dress in layers because the weather can change fast. Don’t forget water and snacks if you are wanting a longer hike.
- Respect Nature: Stay on the trails to protect the environment. Keep the park clean and take your trash with you.
- Weather Watch: Check the weather before you go. The mountains can be unpredictable, so be ready for changes.
- Capture the Moments: Don’t just focus on poses. Capture candid moments showing real emotions. These often turn out the best! I also captured Summer Estes Park Engagement Photos in the area if you are wanting more ideas.
