K & P’s Unique Vintage Breckenridge Airbnb Wedding

Kennedy and Paetan’s Intimate Airbnb Breckenridge Wedding was such a special an intentional day. Their wedding weekend was surrounded by their closest friends and families in Breckenridge Colorado. Their wedding started on a Thursday with friends and family gathering at their Airbnb and ended on Saturday. The vibes of the day were vintage, nostalgic, unique, colorful, and intentional. From the sweet family’s bulldog, to Kennedy’s stunning Anthropologie dress, every detail made this wedding unique and so original.

The homemade florals created on the morning of their wedding from friends and family added a personal touch, while the intimate ceremony overlooking the mountains provided a breathtaking backdrop.

One of the highlights of the day was the cake that Kennedy herself made. It not only looked beautiful but tasted delicious as well! Another memorable moment was when a storm rolled in over the mountains, and Kennedy and Paetan just chose to embrace the rain during their special day, symbolizing their willingness to weather any storm together.

Kennedy even had an outfit change that she did for their first dance. But what truly stood out was the overwhelming love that could be felt from their family and friends, making it a truly unforgettable intentional day nestled in the Mountains.

What is an Intimate Wedding?

An intimate wedding is a celebration focused on the essence of love and the connection between you and your partner, not with guest experience as the forefront. It is an intentionally small and cozy gathering, typically with a guest list of close family and friends. Kennedy and Paetan had around 25 people for their intimate wedding celebration! In contrast to a traditional large-scale wedding, an intimate wedding allows for a more personal and meaningful experience. With a smaller number of guests, you can truly interact with each person, and take time to take in your wedding day.

Many couples are learning towards intimate weddings as it allows them to prioritize what truly matters to them on their special day. Instead of getting caught up in the stress and logistics of a large event, you can focus on intentionally celebrating your love.

Intimate weddings offer a more relaxed and authentic experience. You can spend quality time with your closest friends and family, fostering a sense of intimacy and shared joy. Moreover, this type of wedding often allows for more creativity in terms of decor, food, and entertainment, as the focus is on personalization rather than conforming to traditional expectations. With fewer guests to accommodate, you can spend money and resources towards creating a unique and unforgettable original experience for everyone involved.

Do you need Bridesmaids or Groomsmen for an Intimate Wedding?

The decision to have bridesmaids or groomsmen for an intimate wedding ultimately depends on you and your personal preferences! For Kennedy and Paetan’s intimate wedding they did not have any bridal party, and kept things really simple. While traditionally, bridesmaids and groomsmen are a common feature of larger weddings, they are not a requirement for an intimate celebration. In fact, many couples opt to forgo the traditional bridal party in favor of a more intimate and relaxed atmosphere.

With a smaller guest list, you can choose to involve your closest friends and family members in different ways, such as having them participate in readings, give speeches, or simply enjoy the day as cherished guests.

The beauty of an intimate wedding is that it allows you to make decisions that align with your desires, and if having bridesmaids or groomsmen does not fit into your vision, then there is no need to include them. The focus should be on creating a meaningful and personal experience, where you feel surrounded by love and support, regardless of the presence or absence of a formal bridal party!

Can I still have Traditional Wedding Elements for an Airbnb Wedding?

Absolutely, remember this is your day to make it your own! For Kennedy and Paetan’s wedding there were several traditional elements sprinkled into their non-traditional intimate day. For example they still did a first dance, getting ready with her mom and sister, cake cutting, first look, and had a traditional ceremony! You can really make this day your own and pull whatever traditions you feel are right for you and your partner!

What is a Wedding Weekend?

Something super unique that Kennedy and Paetan did for their Breckenridge wedding was made it a wedding weekend! So let’s chat about what even is a wedding weekend?

A wedding weekend refers to a celebration that extends beyond just the wedding day itself, encompassing a series of events and activities over the course of a few days. A wedding weekend typically begins with a welcome event, such as a rehearsal dinner or casual gathering, where the couple and their loved ones can relax and socialize before the main event. The wedding day follows, filled with the ceremony, reception, and other traditional festivities. However, the celebration doesn’t end there. The weekend may include additional events like a post-wedding brunch, a farewell party, or even organized group activities and outings.

Some things that Kennedy and Paetan did for their wedding weekend was: went on a group hike, explored Breckenridge together, and all stayed in the Airbnb together for the whole weekend. This allowed them to really make intentional time with their people and not just have it be over in one day!

Check the rules and regulations set by the host regarding events, maximum capacity, and any additional fees or permits required. Communicate openly with the host to clarify expectations and discuss any specific requirements you may have.

Next, be mindful of logistics and practicalities. Evaluate the space available both indoors and outdoors, considering factors such as seating arrangements, parking availability, and restroom facilities for guests. Additionally, consider the distance and accessibility of Airbnb to local amenities, accommodations for guests, and transportation options.

It’s essential to familiarize yourself with the local ordinances and regulations regarding noise restrictions and curfews, especially if you plan to have live music or entertainment. Respect the neighbors and the property itself, taking care to clean up after the event and leave the Airbnb in the same condition it was originally found.

How to Know if your Airbnb Allows Weddings

When considering hosting your wedding at an Airbnb or Vrbo property, it is crucial to determine if the specific listing allows for such events. Here are some steps to help you know if Airbnb permits weddings!

Read the listing description

Carefully review the property’s description on the Airbnb website or app. Some hosts explicitly mention whether weddings or events are allowed.

Check the house rules

Hosts typically outline specific rules and restrictions in their property listings. Look for any mention of events, parties, or gatherings. If there are no specific details provided, reach out to the host directly to inquire about the possibility of hosting a wedding.

Contact the host

Send a message to the host to inquire about the possibility of hosting a wedding at their property. Be clear about your intentions, the estimated number of guests, and any specific requirements you may have. The host will provide you with the most accurate information regarding their policies and any additional fees or conditions that may apply.

Look for past reviews

Check the reviews left by previous guests who may have hosted events at the property. This can give you an idea of whether the host is open to events and how accommodating they were.

Research local regulations

In addition to the host’s policies, be aware of any local regulations or permits required for hosting events. Check the local government or municipality websites for any specific guidelines or restrictions.

Consider alternative venues

If the initial Airbnb property does not allow weddings, consider searching for other listings in the area that specifically cater to events or weddings. There are many Airbnb properties specifically designed and marketed as wedding venues.

Remember, it is essential to have open and honest communication with the host to ensure that both parties are on the same page regarding expectations and requirements.

Thank you so much!! This exact Airbnb was a house that was for sale, that they were able to use for their wedding before it actually sold. But there are several others in Colorado that you can host an intimate wedding or elopement at. A couple you should check out are: Flying Moon Cabins, A Frame Club, and Dunton Hot Springs!
