Dead Horse Point Wedding

Wow I am still in awe at how insanely beautiful Alyssa and Brendon’s elopement day was at Dead Horse Point. It was the perfect fall day in Moab for Alyssa and Brendon. Everything from her dress to the amazing sunset, made it an unforgettable wedding that I will always be obsessed with! The weather was a perfect 70 degrees with amazing warmth. Moab Utah is such a stunning location for your elopement or wedding. Below I have all my insider tips as well as photos from Alyssa and Brendon’s sweet day.

How To Get Married At Dead Horse Point

One of the great things about getting married at Dead Horse Point is that there are a few options on where to get married in the park, you aren’t just limited to one spot! It is small enough that it’s not overwhelming, but still has a major view for photos. Linked HERE I have a map of where you can get married in the park and the different view points. My favorite view point for couples to elope or getting married in the park is west bench. This is perfect for saying vows at sunset and getting a massive view!

Wedding Permit Dead Horse Point

To make sure that you keep things legal you will need a permit to legally get married and be able to take wedding photos in the park. The great thing about getting a permit is that I can help you through the entire process and is is really inexpensive!

For up to 40 people a permit is only $60. For 41 – 80 people a permit is $80. Then for guest list over 81 people it will cost you $100 to get into the park.

Other things to consider is that your permit must be submitted at least 30 days prior to the date that you are wanting to get married. Also, there is a vehicle fee to be consider. It is $20 per vehicle, so just a small cost to let your guest be aware of!

Best Time To Get Married At Dead Horse Point

There are a couple of different factors that help decide when the best time to get marred in the park is. First off the summers can be very hot as well as filled with tourist. While the winters can be mild, they still receive snow and conditions can get windy and cold. I suggest getting married in the fall or spring to avoid the larger crowds and for milder weather. My favorite times for weddings at Dead Horse Point is September through November! In addition you are going to consider if you want to get married at sunrise or sunset.

Sunrise

Sunrise is a great option is you are wanting a more private ceremony and looking to ditch the crowds. Highly recommend this option!

Sunset

On the other hand the most iconic point in the park is best at sunset. I recommend considering this option if you are okay with a few people watching your ceremony and you taking photos. Alyssa and Brendon’s wedding photos were taken at sunset in the middle of week in November and had very mild crowds!
