Lillian and Andrew had the sweetest and most intentional day spent with each other at Flying Moon Cabins near Idaho Springs Colorado. The atmosphere was nostalgic and vintage which was perfect for an all day cabin elopement celebration. The day started with them sipping freshly brewed coffee, playing card games with one another, and even exploring the cool fresh flowering waters of the nearby creek. There were light showers throughout the first part of the day, but Lillian and Andrew embraced every moment!
Later in the day Lillian and Andrew spent time getting ready in the cabins. Her beautiful gown was from Blue Bridal Boutique in Denver, with all the accessories from Peach House Co. They then took some intentional moments to hand write their vows with each other. Following that we spent time exploring around the cabins and taking photos. Truly an incredible day from start to finish! A full day elopement allows you to have the most relaxed and intentional day spent with each other without the stress and distractions.
What Does it Mean to Elope?
I get it, there are so many different ideas about eloping, but what does eloping actually mean? Like truly? In today’s world eloping means so much more than running off to Vegas and is something so much more intimate and special than just a quick ceremony.
Eloping, as I define it, is an intimate wedding experience where the primary focus is on the couple themselves rather than catering to the expectations of guests. You might be wondering what this entails, and I’m here to clarify. Eloping can really mean a wide range of possibilities.
Whether you envision a private ceremony with just the two of you or desire to have a small gathering with a select group of 10 family members, the beauty of eloping lies in its flexibility. It’s your special day, and you have the freedom to shape it according to your own desires. The emphasis is on celebrating your love and devotion, ensuring that all attention is devoted to you as a couple, rather than the guest experience.

How to Pick A Cabin For Your Elopement
Okay so you want to do a Cabin Elopement! Yay! Let’s go over how to pick the right cabin for your elopement!
Consider Your Location
Choose a cabin that is close to your other great surrounding locations or offers a beautiful backdrop for your elopement. Consider the scenery, nearby attractions, and the overall vibe of the area. Some of my favorite states for cabin elopements are Colorado, Washington, Oregon, and Montana.
Communicate
If you are considering going through Airbnb or Vrbo I highly recommend reaching out to the host before making a booking. Ask any questions you have about the cabin, its surroundings, and any specific requirements you might have for your wedding!
Come up with Your Budget
Consider your budget when selecting a cabin. Prices can vary depending on location, amenities, and availability. Make sure to factor in any additional costs such as cleaning fees or security deposits.
Think who you are wanting to invite
Determine the size of the cabin based on your needs. If you’re having a small elopement, a cozy cabin may be perfect. If you have guests joining you, opt for a larger cabin with enough space for everyone. Look for amenities like a fully equipped kitchen, comfortable bedrooms, and outdoor spaces!
Why Choose an All Day Elopement
The simple answer is you and your love story deserves to be documented from start to finish. Eloping is just as special as a traditional wedding day, so why not make the most of it and really soak in the entire day from start to finish. With an all day elopement you’ll have all the memories documented in a no rush day which allows you to intentionally explore. Here are just a few reasons who you should consider an all day elopement.
Intimate and Meaningful Moments
An all-day elopement allows you to savor each moment together. Without time constraints, you can take your time getting ready, exchanging heartfelt vows, and enjoying quiet moments together. It provides an environment where you can fully immerse yourselves in the experience and create memories that will last a lifetime.
Unique Experiences
By having an all-day elopement, you can incorporate unique experiences and adventures into your special day. Whether it’s exploring a hidden waterfall, swimming in a creek, or having a mountain top picnic, the possibilities are endless. This allows you to infuse your elopement with adventure and create a truly personalized experience.
Flexibility and Freedom
Unlike traditional weddings with tight schedules and numerous guests to accommodate, an all-day elopement gives you the freedom to plan the day exactly as you envision it. You can choose your favorite locations, set your own timeline, and design the day around your preferences. This flexibility allows for a more relaxed and stress-free experience.
Focus on Each Other
With an all-day elopement, the focus is solely on you and your partner. You can spend quality time together without distractions or pressures. It provides an opportunity to deepen your connection, reaffirm your love, and celebrate your commitment in an intimate setting.

Who to Invite to your Small, Intimate Cabin Wedding
I know how tricky it can be deciding on who to invite to your intimate wedding or elopement. Here are a few of my biggest tips for selecting guests for your elopement. Also, you don’t have to bring anyone if you don’t want to, this is you and your partner’s day!
Consider Immediate Family
Start by considering including your immediate family members, such as parents, siblings, and grandparents. These are the people who are likely to have played a significant role in your life and will cherish being a part of your special day.
Quality over Quantity
It’s important to remember that your wedding or elopement is an intimate affair. Focus on inviting people who truly matter to you and whose presence will enhance the significance of the day. Choose quality over quantity when it comes to the guest list.
Consider the Relationships
Reflect on the relationships you have with potential guests. Are they people who have been supportive, loving, and caring towards both you and your partner? Surround yourself with those who have been a positive influence and have shown genuine interest in your happiness.
Future Impact
Consider the long-term impact of your invitation choices. Will inviting certain individuals bring joy and strengthen your relationships, or could it potentially strain them? Think about the future dynamics and how you envision those relationships moving forward.
Remember, your wedding or elopement should be a reflection of your love and commitment. Ultimately, the decision of who to invite should be based on what feels right for you and your partner, keeping in mind the significance of an intimate celebration.
