bride and groom walking for their fall flagstaff elopement

Hannah and Sam’s fall Flagstaff elopement was a day filled with love and joy. The fall season in Flagstaff is truly special, with fall colors and calm weather that makes everything feel magical. It was the perfect setting for Hannah and Sam to start their new life together. They chose this time of year because they loved how peaceful and colorful everything looked, and they wanted their day to be as unique as their love story.

Why Elope in Flagstaff in the Fall?

Flagstaff offers a perfect blend of natural beauty and quietness, making it one of the most sought-after elopement destinations. The fall season in Flagstaff brings cooler temperatures and stunning colors, as the landscape turns to shades of red, orange, brown, and yellow. This creates an insanely stunning backdrop for couples looking to celebrate their love away from the busy city.

A Ceremony In Nature

For Hannah and Sam, the day began with a short hike to their chosen location. They wanted a spot that was both intimate and out in nature, and Flagstaff delivered just that. They read their vows to each other in the field and it was such a beautiful sight! I love capturing such meaningful moments with my couples.

What to Wear for a Fall Elopement

When planning a fall elopement, what you wear can make a huge difference in comfort and style. For the bride, a long-sleeved gown with light fabric can provide elegance and warmth. Hannah wore a stunning halter style wedding dress with a dramatic layered veil. The groom can choose to wear a suit with neutral colors or of your choice! Neutrals always look best due to them being timeless and enhancing the nature around you. Sam wore a classic black and white suit. Comfortable shoes are a must, especially if you plan to hike to your elopement spot. You can always bring your elopement shoes to change into once you reach your spot. Layers are also recommended, as temperatures can change and be cooler in the fall.

Other Inspiration

If you’re considering other Arizona locations for your elopement, you can find inspiration from my previous blog on How To Elope At Cathedral Rock. Located in Sedona, Cathedral Rock offers an amazing setting with its red rocks and panoramic views. It’s another excellent choice for couples seeking an unforgettable backdrop for their vows. Also, the Sunny Flagstaff Engagement Photos blog illustrates just how charming Flagstaff can be, if you are engaged and need ideas for those photos!

Activities to Enhance Your Elopement Day

In addition to exchanging vows, there are plenty of activities couples can add to their elopement to make the day even more special. I highly recommend adding something fun into your elopement! Here are a few ideas:

  1. Hiking: Flagstaff has some amazing hikes to add to your elopement day. Keep it simple and just explore the local nature.
  2. Picnic in the Park: Share a romantic meal with your new spouse in one of Flagstaff’s scenic spots. Pack a basket with your favorite foods and enjoy the nature around you.
  3. Stargazing: Flagstaff’s night skies are perfect for stargazing. Lie back and watch the stars on a blanket, an ideal way to end your special day.
  4. Hot Air Balloon Ride: For those seeking a bit of adventure, a hot air balloon ride can offer breathtaking views of Flagstaff’s landscape. It’s a unique experience that adds a touch of magic to your elopement.
  5. Horseback Riding: Explore the beautiful trails of Flagstaff on horseback. It’s a peaceful way to connect with nature and each other.

Capture Your Special Moment
