When you think of the ultimate mountain elopement, lakes, wildflowers, and the most insane views, this day is exactly that. Maddy and Tommy came all the way from Wisconsin to get married in Glacier National Park, and every part of their day was the perfect mix of adventure and intention.
From getting ready at an Airbnb with horses to watching the sun dip behind Logan Pass after their hike, their day was honestly so perfect and such a joy to photograph!
Getting Ready at an Airbnb with Horses
They booked my full day elopement package and their morning started slow and cozy at an Airbnb tucked away in the Montana mountains. The property had horses grazing right outside, which made for the coolest photos!
Maddy got ready with her sister (the only guest at their elopement!), while Tommy got dressed in another part of the cabin. Once they were both ready, we set up their first look right outside the Airbnb!
Photos with the Horses
Before heading to their ceremony, we spent a little time taking portraits with the horses (because honestly, how often do you get to do that on your wedding day?). After that, we packed up and hit the road toward Two Medicine Lake, a spot that never disappoints!

A Short Hike and Exploring the Area
Before their ceremony at Two Medicine Lake, we did a quick detour to a nearby waterfall trail. It was an easy, scenic hike with so many spots for photos. We even stopped by Pray Lake, another peaceful spot that’s perfect if you want variety in your photos without a ton of extra driving on that side of the park!
I always recommend breaking up the day with a few short stops like this, it gives you a chance to explore different parts of Glacier and get that mix of forest, mountain, and lake backdrops all in one day.
A Quiet Ceremony at Two Medicine Lake
When we got back to Two Medicine, it was time for their ceremony. With just Maddy’s sister there as their witness, they said their vows along the edge of the lake while the wind rippled across the water.
Afterward, we hung around to take a few photos by the shoreline! Check out another blog on a Two Medicine Lake Elopement for more inspo!

Chasing the Light on Going-to-the-Sun Road
After the ceremony, we hopped back in the car and made our way up the iconic Going-to-the-Sun Road. This drive is one of the most scenic in the U.S., and it’s an absolute must for anyone eloping in Glacier National Park.
We stopped at a stunning blue lake along the way, one of those spots you might miss if you don’t know where to look. The water was unreal, and it added such a fun pop of color to their gallery.
From there, we kept driving toward Logan Pass, where we planned to end the day with a short sunset hike.
Hiking at Logan Pass for Sunset
Once we reached Logan Pass, we set out on a just under 3-mile hike surrounded by wildflowers and mountain goats (classic Glacier!). The air was crisp and the trail opened up to a view that felt straight out of a dream.
We found a quiet overlook to take photos and just watch the sun dip behind the peaks. Maddy and Tommy took a few minutes to soak it all in, just the two of them at the top of the world.
It was the perfect way to end their Logan Pass elopement!

Why Logan Pass is One of the Best Elopement Spots in Glacier
Logan Pass is one of my all-time favorite spots in Glacier National Park for elopements and for good reason. Here’s why it’s worth including in your day:
- Incredible Views: You’re surrounded by panoramic mountain views, lakes, and wildlife everywhere you look. Especially if you go at sunset you have great chances of seeing a mountain goat or bighorn sheep!
- Perfect for Hiking Lovers: There are tons of short, accessible trails that don’t require a full-day trek.
- Sunrise & Sunset Light: The light at the pass is unbeatable, especially when it hits the peaks just right.
- Variety: You can easily pair Logan Pass with other locations nearby to get lots of variety in your gallery!
Whether you’re looking for an epic hike or just want to wander along the trails for a few photos, Logan Pass delivers that quintessential Glacier experience.
Planning Your Own Logan Pass Elopement
If you’re dreaming of a day like Maddy and Tommy’s, full of adventure, nature, and meaning, here’s how you can start planning your own Logan Pass elopement:
- Pick the Right Time of Year: Logan Pass typically opens in Late June to Mid July and stays accessible until around mid-September. I highly recommend waiting till late July when everything is in bloom and most accessible! Summer gives you wildflowers, while fall offers those golden tones and fewer crowds.
- Secure Your Permit: You’ll need a special use permit for your ceremony in Glacier National Park. Don’t worry, and I help all my couples navigate it.
- Plan for Flexibility: Weather in the mountains changes fast, so I always recommend keeping your timeline flexible!
