horses running behind couple at their Wyoming horse elopement

If you’ve ever dreamed about a Wyoming horse elopement, this day at The Barn at Heiner Ranch shows exactly why this part of the state is so special. It was an early summer day in May, filled with golden light, mountain views, and green springtime grass!

I love when elopements are centered around slowing down and being present. From a quiet morning in a cozy cabin to sunset photos with horses, everything about this day felt relaxed and intentional.

A Slow Morning in the Mountains Outside the Tetons

The day started in a small Airbnb cabin near the ranch. Soft morning light came through the windows as they made coffee and talked through the day ahead. No rush, no pressure. Just international time!

Claire & Connor sat on the porch, looking out toward the mountains, and it really captured what I love about Wyoming elopements, the feeling that you have all the space in the world.

Getting Ready Together

Instead of separate spaces, they got ready side by side. It’s such a great option for couples who want to spend the full day together without doing a first look. And her dress? Absolutely stunning!! I will never be over it!

Writing Their Vows

Before heading to the ranch, they sat on the front porch swings and wrote out their vows. So many of my elopement couples choose to write vows and honestly its such a special thing to do on your elopement day!

Heiner Ranch

When we arrived, the landscape opened up into green rolling fields surrounded by snow-capped peaks. It’s one of those places that feels made for intimate celebrations.

The Barn at Heiner Ranch is owned by Tre and Olivia Heiner, who specialize in small weddings and elopements. They’ve created such a welcoming space for future couples! Whether you’re envisioning a small dinner in the barn or a simple outdoor ceremony with horses in the fields.

They also own Jackson Hole Outfitters, who brought in the horses for this shoot. Including horses in your elopement brings such a natural western touch, and at Heiner Ranch, it fits perfectly.

Photos with Horses and Mountain Views

As the sun started to drop, the couple walked through the open fields with their horses from Jackson Hole Outfitters.  We got the most insane photos and make sure you scroll though all the photos in this blog post to check them out!

Dinner in the Field

After photos, a small table was set up right in the field, candles, flowers, and dinner as the sun set behind the mountains. The horses grazed nearby, and it honestly felt like a scene straight out of a Pinterest dream.
