bride and groom reading their vows along the river for their Mount Baker Elopement

Leah and Ryan chose to have a Mount Baker Elopement, a decision that promised both intimacy and breathtaking scenery. Their day was filled with love, unexpected moments, and truly some of the best views in the state of Washington.

An All-Day Mount Baker Elopement

Their morning began writing their vows together at Bagley Lakes. Leah and Ryan decided to write their vows early in the day, right after sunrise. This quiet time was so peaceful and intimate between the two of them. After writing their vows, Leah and Ryan decided to hike a little bit around the lakes and explore the area together. It was a great way to start their elopement day together.

The First Look

After writing their vows Leah and Ryan headed back to their Airbnb to wind down and continue on with their day. At the Airbnb, I captured getting ready photos and more. They decided to have their first look at the cabin, which was a private and touching moment that marked the beginning of their elopement. It set a perfect tone for the rest of their special day.

Picture Lake

First, Leah and Ryan explored Picture Lake in the Mt. Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest. This lake is super accessible and the perfect warm up before couples hit their elopement spot. They walked around the lake and took in the views of the spot. The lake was so, SO beautiful and it was surrounded by wild blueberry bushes!

Weather Changes & Backup Plans

Next, Leah and Ryan traveled to the top and were ready to say their vows at Artist Point. Usually, on a clear day this spot is truly surreal. You can see a 360 view of all the mountains, meadows, and nature. Weather in the mountains can be unpredictable, and on this day, it decided to bring very thick fog to Artist Point, where Leah and Ryan had planned to say their vows. But they were ready to embrace whatever came their way. They headed down the mountain and decided on a new location and discovered a stunning spot by a super blue river.

The Perfect Ceremony by the River

They drove to a spot that was accessible to the river. After taking a very short hike and weaving through some trees and over logs, they found the perfect ceremony spot. Leah and Ryan completely had the river to themselves. The river, with its bright blue and green waters, provided an amazing setting for Leah and Ryan to exchange their vows. The peacefulness of the location added such intimacy to their elopement. Not very many couples can say that they eloped at the most beautiful river EVER but Leah and Ryan can!

Mt. Baker: A Perfect Alternative to Mt. Rainier

Mt. Baker offers an amazing alternative to Mt. Rainier for couples looking to elope in the Pacific Northwest. While Mt. Rainier is famous for its mountain and expansive views, it can often be crowded. Mt. Baker provides equally stunning views but with more seclusion and less busy trails, making it ideal for intimate ceremonies. The diverse landscapes, from lush forests to serene rivers, offer a variety of beautiful settings to choose from, ensuring every couple can find their perfect spot to exchange vows.

Inspired by Nature

Mt. Baker offers stunning views and landscapes, making it a perfect place for an elopement. Its natural beauty adds a magical touch to any ceremony. Like Mt. Rainier, Mt. Baker presents a unique charm and atmosphere, each with its own characteristics that can make a wedding truly unforgettable. You also could make a whole vacation out of your elopement and stop by both spots! If you need more inspiration I have Sunny Skyline Trail Elopement and Mowich Lake Elopement blogs that took place at Rainier!
