couple walking for their Oregon waterfall couples photos

In Oregon, a state known for its forests and stunning waterfalls, Kara and Ted, who have been married since 2020, decided to capture their love through a unique waterfall photoshoot. These photos were taken at Wahkeena Falls in early spring when everything was becoming green again.

Rather than a well-known, crowded waterfall, they selected a more secluded one. Wahkeena Falls does require a short hike, but this just adds to the experience. This was also a bit of an “off season” for visiting Northern Oregon. Taking photos in the off season allows for not only privacy but also a more peaceful atmosphere.

Why Should You Take Couples Photos At A Waterfall?

  • Amazing Scenery: Waterfalls are beautiful. Imagine standing with your partner with water falling in the background. It looks epic and adds something really extra to your photos.
  • It’s Romantic: There’s something special about waterfalls. the sound of the water, the mist in the air. It’s super romantic and makes your pictures look like they’re straight out of a fairy tale.
  • Adventure Time: Getting to a waterfall might mean a little adventure, like a hike through a forest. It’s a fun way to spend time together and makes taking photos even more exciting.
  • Unique Photo Ops: Not everyone thinks of taking photos at a waterfall. Your pictures will stand out because they’re different from the usual photo spots like parks or beaches.
  • Memories for Life: Besides getting awesome photos, you’ll make memories together during this experience. It’s not just about the pictures but also about the fun experience you share.

Overall, taking couples photos at a waterfall isn’t just about getting unique photos. It’s about the beauty, the romance, the adventure, and creating special memories that you’ll look back on forever.

Tips For Your Waterfall Photo Session:

Pick the Perfect Time

When planning your couples photoshoot at a waterfall, the time of day can make a big difference. If your waterfall is in a secluded forest you’ll want to visit when the sun is higher for the most lighting. Spring is the best time to visit waterfalls because they’re more powerful and loud. When winter snow melts and it rains more often, waterfalls get the impact making them look their best!

Dress for the Scene

What you wear to your waterfall photoshoot matters a lot. Choose outfits that not only look good together but also match the natural beauty of the waterfall. Also, be ready for a bit of adventure. Comfortable shoes are a must since you might need to walk or hike to get to the best spots.

Be Ready for Any Weather

Waterfalls are often found in areas where the weather can change quickly. One minute it’s sunny, and the next, it could start raining. Bring along a change of clothes, just in case you get wet, and maybe even an umbrella. Being prepared means you won’t have to cut your photoshoot short if the weather decides not to cooperate.

Don’t Be Afraid to Get a Little Wet

Sometimes, the best photo spots require you to step into the water. Don’t be afraid to get a bit wet for the sake of an amazing photo. Just make sure you’re careful since it can be slippery. Getting closer to the water can get you some really unique and beautiful shots.

Have Fun with It

Most importantly, have fun during your photoshoot! This is a special moment for you as a couple, and enjoying the experience will shine through in your photos. Don’t stress about making every shot perfect. Embrace the adventure, the beauty of the waterfall, and each other’s company. When you’re having a good time, it shows, making your photos even more beautiful and meaningful.

Altogether, a couples photoshoot at a waterfall is not just about taking great pictures, it’s about creating unforgettable memories together. Keep these tips in mind, and you’re sure to end up with photos that you’ll cherish for a lifetime.
