Lake Powell Elopement-Utah Desert Elopement

Uncategorized

I had the best time hanging out with Olivia and Kyle in the desert!! I truly cannot recommend eloping at Lake Powell enough. It has so much diversity and you can get landscapes such as white rock and then jump in for a swim at the end of the night at Lone Rock Beach! The hike to this secret canyon was around two miles one way, and made the perfect location for their fun and carefree elopement. There was not a soul around, making it such an intimate and special experience. Throughout the hike we admired the hoodoos, white rocks, as well as all the small lizards that ran across along the trails. The hike is a little off the beaten path, but for me that makes the adventure even sweeter with my couples. We did not see anyone else on the trail until the hike back. I am a huge fan of desolate trails! I cannot express enough how much I love exploring nature with my couples! Being outside and with amazing people makes my job so filling and allows me to create my best art.

Olivia and Kyle were a dream to work with and they hiked the entire trail in their wedding attire! By the end of our adventure they were climbing up rocks and taking advantage of all the exploring they could do. I seriously love Utah so much and cannot tell you enough how magical of a place it is for an elopement!

Not only was the hike super fun, but I also truly had so much fun playing around with the lighting during this mid day shoot! The sky was filled with sunlight and warmth. Sunny photos can be oh so beautiful and I am still swooning over these photos today! Everything from Olivia’s boho inspired dress, dried florals, and fun sunglasses addition at the end of the shoot these two made their Utah elopement so unique and true to themselves. After the elopement was finished we took our time hiking back to our cars. There is so much beauty to explore, and that day we truly took it slow. Feeling every moment and all the sights and sounds.

When eloping at Lake Powell I highly recommend staying in Page Arizona! You might be thinking.. isn’t Lake Powell in Utah? My response would be yes, but Page is just a 30 minute drive from this location and has the best overall accommodations in the area! Lake Powell is pretty large in size and can take over 3 hours to drive around the entire lake. In my opinion the best sides of the lake are located on the south side, which is closest to Page Arizona! One thing to note when eloping at Lake Powell is the time change. Arizona doesn’t observe daylight savings time, so when crossing into the Utah border this is something to keep in mind!
